Elevator Smoke Curtain

Draft Curtain

Draft curtains are a type of static smoke curtain commonly installed in warehouses, factories, and other large industrial facilities. Unlike dynamic smoke curtains, draft curtains remain fixed in place and are typically used in expansive, high-ceiling environments where smoke control is required.

While they do not form a complete barrier, draft curtains effectively disrupt the flow of smoke along the ceiling. When strategically positioned near exhaust or extraction vents, they help slow the movement of smoke and guide it toward the vents, allowing for safer and more efficient smoke removal.

Vertical Smoke Curtain

Vertical smoke curtains are designed to seal openings between standard doorways and large open areas such as atriums or lobbies. Installed discreetly within the ceiling above the opening, these curtains automatically deploy downward during a fire to prevent smoke from spreading throughout the building.

By dividing expansive spaces into smaller smoke zones, vertical smoke curtains help contain smoke within specific areas, allowing occupants to evacuate safely and enabling firefighters to enter the building more quickly and efficiently.

Perimeter Curtain

Perimeter smoke curtains are ideal for buildings with large open areas, staircases, or escalators where traditional barriers are not practical. Functioning similarly to vertical smoke curtains, perimeter curtains create a fully enclosed smoke barrier that forms an independent perimeter — without the need for existing walls or corner posts.

Although primarily designed to slow the spread of flames, perimeter curtains also effectively reduce the movement of smoke, helping to maintain visibility and protect escape routes during an emergency.
